CP3 has spoken. As it is general knowledge that Chris Paul’s meeting with the Hornets was this morning we were all sitting back waiting for some form of decision or inkling as to whether or not he would be journeying to another team. Twitter relayed an extremely powerful message from the all star point guard that says it all:

“The meeting went well. It was great to get an opportunity to sit down with Coach Williams, President Weber and our new General Manager Dell Demps. I expressed my desire to win and I like what they said about the direction that they want to take the team. I have been a Hornet my entire career and I hope to represent the city of New Orleans and state of Louisiana for many years to come.”
Well there you have it. Now this leads me to ask the question what did management offer Paul to compel him to stay. Reports lately have been stating that he’s as good as gone and not many people were blaming him for it. I mean who can? The Hornets are not exactly championship contenders at the moment and probably will not be for a few seasons. Could they have possibly offered him the opportunity to be apart of a miraculous rebuild that New Orleans basketball is destined for? Was this the smartest move for Paul to take? I’m sure if you’re a dedicated Hornets fan you will think so because you would hate to see him walk out those doors. However, as a fan of the game with a deep understanding of the structure of a championship team, he will be waiting a very long time to reach that win that everyone in the league is in a continuous chase after…..A ring.

Well I understand that they are not contenders right now but the hornets can compete with everyother team he wanted to get traded to except for the Lakers…so all they need to do is make some smart trades or signings in the next free agency…and if they don’t do anything he can still leave in two years…
