After an injury to his ankle in Team USA’s practice, Curry’s standing was questionable. However, it was reported that what seemed horrible when it occurred was actually very minor. After athletic trainers looked at his ankle, they stated that there was no structural damage to it but many still did not know if he would be available for practice, this being two days before US played Lithuania in its first exhibition match outside of the States. Stephen is trying to make the Aug. 28 – Sept 12 tournament in Turkey.

It should be remembered that this is not the only injury to plague the US team this year. David Lee withdrew after he dislocated his middle finger, making him unavailable for about four to six weeks. Robin Lopez, dealing with a back injury that sidelined him two months late last season, also opted out in order to focus on rehabilitation. Sheesh! Who’s next???
