This is what the NBA has been waiting for since last season when an injured Blake Griffin was not able to play a single game with the Los Angeles Clippers. We have been waiting for him to debut, and oh what a debut it was!

Griffin came out strong and barely cooled off throughout the game. His speed, size and playmaking ability proved to everyone watching that he was the number one draft pick for a reason. Griffin has clearly been working out, studying plays and making sure he could be there in any way possible for his team any time they needed him. A double-double in an NBA debut game has not been achieved since Dwight Howard in 2004, and that is pretty impressive.

Hopefully, Griffin can remain this strong and determined throughout the season. The Clippers could use a shining light and the way they were competing against the Portland Trailblazers shows that they have much improved. Not saying that they will win the Finals this season, but a few more adjustments to their roster and on court ball handling, they will not be far from it.
