Hours before handing the returning Lebron James and the Miami Heat their fourth straight loss, the Atlanta Hawks resigned Damien Wilkins to another 10 day contract. After being signed while Joe Johnson recovered from surgery, he has averaged 2.7 points per game in 17 games and he has seemingly impressed the team because they want to keep him around for a little bit longer. Unfortunately for Wilkins the buck does not stop there because when this short period is up, the team must either sign him for the remainder of the season or let him go. It remains to be seen which direction the team will go in. Though he is not franchise player material or putting up star averages, he is not useless. He adds depth to the bench and works well on the boards. Great offensive players all over the league, but that one player that could make the game changing play is worth much more.
