At the halfway mark of the 2010 season, DeRozan has already bypassed his points and assists totals from last season, and his game impact has sky rocketed. He is not yet viewed as a leader by the league commentators yet, but he is well on his way to taking his place on the throne since Chris Bosh’s departure and arrival in Miami. He has added to his resume a beautiful thirty point game against the Miami Heat, even though the Raptors still suffered a 17-point loss (103-120). Replacing the injured Milwaukee Bucks’ Brandon Jennings in the dunk contest this year, he finished second overall behind Nate Robinson last year. He has only failed to reach double digits in twelve games this season and the Raptors were only able to pull out three wins out of those games. It is apparent how valuable he is to the team and how lost they would be if he had not stepped up to the plate.
