Stepping in for Brandon Roy, who was becoming less and less of an asset to the Portland Trailblazers with his lingering knee issues, LaMarcus Aldridge assured his team and his coach that he would be willing to pick up the slack in Roy’s absence. Following the last game Roy played this season, Aldridge followed up in a game against Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves with arguably his best game of the season with 36 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. His field goal percentage has only dropped below .500 four times in the last month and he still managed double doubles in three of those four games. His assist and rebound numbers have been more consistent and he is clearly taking this team by the reins. Aldridge is having his best season, defensively as well as offensively and if you didn’t know him before you know him now.
