A simple fact has become painfully clear in Orlando, Florida. Something is just not right. The Magic team started off with an explosive cast winning five of their first six games. They lost embarrassingly to the Miami Heat, but that was somewhat expected with the raw talent placed on the Heat’s roster. The month of November went well for the team, then somewhere along the lines, wires were crossed and ambition was lost because they suffered a 1-9 streak, two losses that came even after the three-way trade Orlando sculpted between Phoenix and Washington.
Orlando has proved themselves to be one of the most talented yet inconsistent teams in the league and the frustration is seeming from behind closed doors. Howard’s most recent comments are not among the first that he has made voicing his annoyance with his teammate’s defense and outright lack of heart on the court. But, there seems to be another issue lurking in the shadows of the Orlando bench.
Stan Van Gundy has become one of the most inadequate, yet successful coaches. His mid-game comments to reporters and his post-game conferences have left viewers perplexed and wondering if he is really the answer to the leadership necessary for the Magic. Of course you cannot expect a coach to teach effort, but when you see a floor full of talent and they seemingly cannot be shaped to make a championship run, maybe changes need to be made.
Players have already been signed, sealed and delivered, so now there are only two choices to makes. You let the best player on your team become aggravated enough with his surroundings that he takes advantage of his free agency and seeks championships on another team or you make the best power play available, send Van Gundy packing.

Well judging by the story, if Orlando is smart, they’ll tell Van Gundy the gig is up…:/
