The New York Knicks defeat the Miami 91-86, for their 2nd straight victory vs. the Heat.  The season series is now tied 2-2.

Carmelo Anthony said “this is a statement game” going in.  Melo went out and backed it up.  He played great defense down the stretch on LeBron James, and stepped up to the challenge with 29-pts, 9 rebs, & 2assts. Chauncey Billups was huge in the 4th qtr, once again reppin’ his moniker “Mr Big Shot”.  Damn, that name belongs on Madison Ave $.

Billups hit a huge clutch 3 from deep, and had a key steal in the 4th qtr.  Chris Bosh, 20-pts &12 rebs said “Billups is a key part of their success”.  Billups finished with 16-pts.  The Knicks trailed by 15 in the 2nd qtr. They then went on a 16-0 run to end the half capped by a Bill Walker, 3 off the glass as time expired.

The Knicks led 52-51 at the half.  LeBron James, 27-pts, 7 rebs, & 5 assts was quoted as saying “They have some big time guys.”  Carmelo Anthony had 29-pts & 9 rebs, and was 8/9 from the FT line.  Melo was quoted “We redeemed ourselves from that loss in Cleveland.  The atmosphere was great, it was rockin’ in there.”

D. Wade had 12-pts and said “There’s a reason we keep losing these close games, we got to figure it out.”  Amar’e Stoudemire made the game saving block on LeBron, who was played exceptionally well by Melo.

Coach D’Antoni called this “His best victory ever as a Knick coach,” and “the bigger the stage, the bigger the game, the bigger they play.”
