As if the Los Angeles Lakers blow out at the hand of the Dallas Mavericks wasn’t enough, it was the NBA’s front office turn to take a punch.
Lakers center, Andrew Bynum, was suspended by the league for the first five games of next season without pay and has been fined $25,000.
NOT MUCH RIGHT???
With Bynum’s suspension, he will forfeit a total of $677,272 in salary because of his actions against Dallas guard Jose Barea in the final game of the Lakers’ season Sunday.
Bynum apologized Tuesday for driving his forearm into the ribcage of an in-flight Barea.
Bynum said his actions “don’t represent me, my upbringing, this franchise or any of the Laker fans out there that want to watch us and want us to succeed. Furthermore, and more importantly, I want to actually apologize to J.J. Barea for doing that. I’m just glad that he wasn’t seriously injured in the event. All I can say is I’ve looked at it, it’s terrible and it definitely won’t be happening again.”

Damn. When I first heard this I’m thinking that’s just too bad but he knew what the consequences would be when he thought of doing that. This is a business. That’s good he apologized but it still doesn’t warrant his actions
