The most entertaining things about the lockout have not necessarily been the schedule release or the fact that the Christmas day games have officially be announced. Those things are great runner-ups but what has captured NBA fans’ attention the most is undoubtedly all of the hoopla surrounding some of these ridiculous trade rumors.
You know the ones that if you speak up enough, they seem more and more like the truth.
My hat goes off to the Los Angeles Lakers if they are able to land one of the most popular trade rumors to date as they are reportedly aiming to recruit both Chris Paul AND Dwight Howard from the New Orleans Hornets and the Orlando Magic. It would be a hell of a move that would balance the weight that both the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks have stacked their rosters with. [..]
The New York Knicks have evolved into a respectable option in the postseason, managing to land the hometown hero in Carmelo Anthony. While the team received much criticism, Mike D’Antoni crept through the skepticism. He coached two superstars to share the burden of Madison Square Garden and the expectations that accompany it while hearing his coaching methods being questioned every day from a variety of sources.
The actor and filmmaker, Spike Lee, has an enthusiasm that encompasses the mood of the city. New York requires hard work and dedication from all sources of representation. Their famed basketball franchise is no exception. Therefore, it brings very little awe that there is talk of a D’Antoni replacement at head coach and a replacement for Donnie Walsh, the head of the Knicks’ front office. [..]
How crazy would it be to see the two team up, Jordan on the executive side of living and CP3 calling the shots on the court, in Charlotte? The Gerald Wallace trade seemed crazy at first, but if Michael Jordan is able to land Chris Paul, it would be a decision well worth its weight in championship gold. The purpose of these men at the high level office positions is to be able to see into the future of their franchise. Who knew one of the greatest point guards in the game was in the future of the Bobcats?? [..]
This could be it because it would be hard to come back after a lockout,” Kidd told Yahoo! Sports. “I would probably move on and join the next chapter of what I would be doing in life. But I hope that isn’t the case where it just ended without having one more season.” [..]
Even though the trade deadline has come and gone, there are still many last minute moves in the NBA for the teams still looking for that special player. As fans, we all know that the last piece to the never ending puzzle is nothing more than the highlight of a reoccurring pipe dream [..]
Cleveland has agreed to take Baron Davis from the Clippers and his huge $14.8 million contract. [..]
So as the “Melo” drama continues, it is being said that the Nets might comeback in the 11th hour. However, meetings are being held and Mikhail Prokhorov has made no mention of Carmelo Anthony.
As it stands, the Knicks might be the likely suitor. The issue in my opinion, is the Nuggets are asking for way too much! [..]
As rumors swirl that Carmelo Anthony is heading to New York or Los Angeles, the Denver Nuggets forward said he’s thinking about staying put.
Anthony said he would “take a real hard look” at signing a three-year, $65 million extension with the Nuggets if he isn’t dealt [..]
After the past couple of weeks have been filled with talks of Carmelo Anthony being a part of a multiple trade deal between New Jersey, Denver and Detroit, most of us would have guessed that the rumor mill would have calmed after the 28 point loss Denver shelled out to Miami. Well, we were wrong. There are two more names being brought to the party and one not as surprising as the other, [..]
Yes everybody. It is true. Tracy McGrady has officially joined the Detroit Pistons roster with a 1 year $1.3 million deal. With all the speculation surrounding Chicago being his destination, [..]
